Boston Militia Women's Football Staff, Somerville, MA, August 8, 2013
With the offensive line leading the way, the Boston Militia closed out the 2013 regular season with an 8 – 0 record and a bye for the Round 1 of the playoffs.
The "O" continued to be the force for the offensive to continue their mastery over opposing defenses. Stacey Tiamfook carried led the rushing game with 8 carries and 3 touchdowns of 59, 29 and 16 yards. Whitney Zelee carried 6 times for 122 yards and a 17 yard TD and caught a pass and run for 34 yards. Asia Landrum carried 4 times and scored on a 30 yard run. Adrienne Smith caught a 27 yard pass and run from Allison Cahill for a touchdown.
Danielle Resha kicked 4 PAT's and Landrum ran for two 2-point conversions.
Allison Cahill was 8 – 16 for 102 yards passing and 2 touchdowns for the evening.
Smith caught 4 passes for 38 yard. Tiamfook caught 3 passes for 22 yards, Kathryn Tylander caught one pass for 5 yards, Zelee caught one pass of 34 yards for a TD and Dorothy Donaldson caught one pass for 8 yards.
The Defense was led by Vicky Eddy with 6 tackles and one pass tip. Rookie Deanna Walsh had 5 tackles and one for a loss on the evening. Other contributing with four tackles each were Xaymara Saez, Shauntay Stewart, Briannah Gallo, Jennifer Pirog. Also, making tackles for losses were Saez, and Kristen Sarson. Making pass deflections were Gallo, Michelle Princi and Elizabeth Calkins. Tiamfook forced a fumble a tackle on a kickoff and Nicole Battaglia recovered a fumble.
The Militia earned a BYE in Round 1 of the playoffs this weekend. The next game for the Militia will be played on June 22 against the winner of Pittsburgh and Cincinatti game. Kick off will be at 6 pm at the Dilboy Stadium in Somerville.
