The Boston Militia Women's Football Team improved its season record to 9-0 with a strong performance against the New York Sharks with a 47-6 victory.

The Militia offensive line played an outstanding game opening the lanes for the running backs. The Boston Militia ran 46 rushing plays and gained 322 yards. The Militia was led by Whitney Zelee with 18 carries, 136 yards, 2 pass receptions for 34 yards to account for 170 all purpose yards and 5 touchdowns.

Zelee scored on runs of 4, 9 25, 1 and 3 yards to lead the Militia ground attack.

Stacey Tiamfook gained 54 yard on 6 carries.

Dorothy Donaldson smashed her way thru the Sharks defense to rack up 50 yards on 7 carries and scored on a 1 yard plunge into the endzone.

Xaymara Saez carried 7 times and gained 47 yards. Amy Saur twice and gained 10 yards. Lucia Robinson ran twice and gained 6 yards.

Allison Cahill completed 6-11 passes for 86 yards.

Chante Bonds ran a punt back 70 yards for a Militia TD.

Danielle Resha converted 5 of 7 extra point kicks.

The Boston receivers were lead by Zelee with 2 catches and 34 yards, Saur with two catches for 25 yards, Emily Weinberg one pass for 18 yards, and Kathryn Tylander caught one pass for 9 yards.

The Boston Militia defensive unit was not to be outdone for outstanding performance and recognition in this game. The Militia defenders made 9 pass deflections, forced 2 fumbles, made 7 tackles for losses and forced a fumble.

Leading the Militia were Briannah Gallo with 6 tackles and 4 pass deflections. Molly Goodwin had 4 tackles and one for a loss. Other key contributors were Bonds with 4 tackles, Vicky Eddy with 4 tackles and 3 for losses, Jessica Penta with 4 tackles. Monica Guen intercepted a pass, Jennifer Powell make two pass deflections and recovered a fumble, Deirdre Hiort made two pass deflections.

The Militia led 14-0 at the end of the first quarter, 34-6 at halftime, and 47-6 after three quarters and the game. Boston was able made numerous substitutions that resulted in many players receiving important playing time experience in the fourth quarter.

Next up for the Militia is the powerful DC Divas in the Semi Final match up in the WFA National Conference Playoff Round. The Divas beat the Pittsburgh Passion on Saturday 45-30 and will enter Dilboy Stadium with a strong 6-3 record.

Kickoff is set for Saturday, July 7 at 6:00 pm at the Dilboy Stadium in Somerville.
