Women's football cornerback, Briannah Gallo, a Peabody native, has helped lead the Boston Militia to back to back championships.

This may come as a shock, but the most decorated cornerback playing football in New England today — well, she doesn't play for the Patriots.

Briannah Gallo, corner back for the Boston Militia women's football team, holds that distinction. A Peabody native, Gallo was named a first-team All-American for the Women's Football Alliance and helped the Militia win the WFA's national championship. Boston beat San Diego, 34-19, in the league's title game last weekend in Texas.

The 27-year-old Gallo has been playing women's tackle football for five years and has been named an all-star at corner three years in a row. She and the Militia have won back-to-back championships, taking the Independant Women's Football League Super Bowl in 2010 and the Women's Football Alliance championship this year.
